A virtual exhibition of the Hungarian Theatre Museum and Institute presents the period of rural theatre between 1854 and 1945. This period of rural theatre is one of the most colourful and eventful in Hungarian theatre history. The itineraries of theatre companies from town to town, the careers of the actors, the places and times of major performances are richly documented in theatre history descriptions and encyclopedic articles. In the virtual exhibition From Stage to Stage, this vast lexical material is brought to life with images, clips, sound recordings and film compilations. Thinglink's interface provided the opportunity to interactively and playfully process this knowledge. This made it possible to work on the scientific aspects and to develop museum education activities online at the same time.
